The Colours of Odyssey art exhibition is well under way, and has already raised over $4,000 for it’s chosen charity, Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore. Over 300 young preschoolers, aged two to six years old, contributed creative masterpieces now purchased by admiring parents or friends.

So far, over 110 guests have attended the open exhibit at the Fourth Avenue and Wilkinson school locations. The last stop on the three-week art tour will be at the Alexander Road school from 10 to 13 July.

Having a ball, New Zealand-style

This year’s Aotearoa Ball was again one of the best of the balls. MC, singer and TV personality, Jacqui Clarke, who flew in from New Zealand for the event, has a glorious voice and her rendition of the national anthem mesmerised the room. The Maori Dance Troupe wowed us as always, and the band kept everyone on the dance floor. Delicious Marlborough bubbly from local vendor Underground Wines flowed, and vodka mixes from 42 Below kept everyone in the groove. Well done to the organisers – and thank you for keeping the auction silent and separate!

The Substation is pleased to announce that submissions for the inaugural Performance Open Call 2010 are now open!
 
Performance Open Call 2010 is a new installment of the annual Open Call programme first initiated by The Substation in 2008 to support and realise critical and vigorous art proposals.
 
The Performance Open Call proposal must not have been performed or presented in public in any form, and must not be longer than 60 minutes in duration. Only artists who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents are eligible for selection.
