We were warmly received at Oscar’s when we arrived for Sunday brunch, and the ambience was bright, breezy and fun. At first glance, the buffet spread may not look quite as impressive as some of the others in this genre, but we think the variety is excellent and that it offers one of the best hotel brunches to be had.

The seafood – crab, tiger prawns, crayfish and oysters – was some of the freshest I’ve tasted in a long time. We had a full platter with a Caesar salad on the side, then moved on to a melt-in-the-mouth prime rib. We also tried the fresh seabass, which was divine. Other options included pasta cooked à la minute, and a multitude of Asian dishes.

From the array of desserts, I assembled a mini-sampler plate, as there was just too much to choose from. I relied on my little one to do the ice cream tasting – he wasn’t disappointed.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, and our two children loved the attention. Childproof plates and cutlery were already on our table on arrival.
