The night was still young after we had finished licking the plates clean in the restaurant, so we headed upstairs to check out the bar. Linked to the main house by a wooden walkway, this spacious alfresco area is über-chic and deliciously inviting.
It isn’t uncommon for me to discover a new favourite drink, but after sampling the Red Grass (Absolut Raspberry, fresh raspberries, lemongrass, lime, lemon juice and sake) I suspect it may be some time before anything else tops it. The alcohol in this dangerously fruity cocktail is barely detectable, although it contains both vodka and sake. At $16 a pop, the cocktails aren’t cheap, but on the other hand they are marvellous, and as a bonus you get to enjoy them in jungle surrounds. One quick drink turned into five as we chilled to the acid jazz music.
Though quiet when we visited, I’ve no doubt that once word has spread, this place will become the new trendy hangout for those who want to be seen, and for those who just love a good cocktail. Music lovers will also be interested to know that the bar will soon be employing a resident DJ and a live band.
We liked Krish so much that we went back for more. Read our review of Krish's brunch here and our take on their dinner menu here.
