My CAR

EL: When did you arrive in Singapore?

ND: I have lived in Singapore for five years now, and am in no rush to leave. My partner, Matt, is Welsh, and our newly arrived daughter Lilliana (eight weeks old at the beginning of June) is a “Wassie” – a Welsh Aussie!

EL: Tell us about your new car, and others you have had before this?

ND: Our latest acquisition is a BMW X3, which we bought in March just before Lilliana was born. We are now a two-car family.  The other one is a two-door BMW which is completely impractical to get a baby into, and with Matt being 6 foot 4 inches, there was no way he could reach into a baby seat in the back.

EL: Why did you choose Expat Car Services?

ND: It was recommended to us by a few friends. Having bought a car in Singapore before, we did the usual rounds of Turf City, West Coast and so on to have an initial look, and then called Expat Car Services. William was brilliant and we ended up buying the first car he showed us, as it was exactly what we were after and the price was right.

EL: What terms do you have the car on, or did you buy it?

ND: We bought it outright.

EL: What made you choose this car?

ND: It is practical to fit a pram and baby seat in. (How our lives have changed!) Safety was another factor.

EL: What do you mainly use the car for?

ND: While I am on maternity leave, I am using it to go to the gym and lots of mothers’ group coffee sessions. But that will change in August when I go back to work full-time – I’ll be driving it to the office then.

EL: What do you like most about your car?

ND: Being a bit higher up in a 4WD helps me to avoid any crashes! I love my car and it’s great to drive. So far, we have managed to avoid any baby vomit in it, but I am sure this will change in the near future.
