Fairprice Antique

Fairprice Antique
Helle Esperson, Owner
What is your favourite antique in the store?
The item I have chosen is a very large kitchen cabinet – 119 centimetres long, 49 cm deep and 198 cm high. The cabinet has been painted elephant grey and has two large carved doors. Inside, it has three shelves, finished in a gorgeous silk. It has wonderful Cabriol legs.
Where is it from and how old is it?
This cabinet comes from Ningxia Province, China, and is approximately 110 years old.
What do you like most about it?
I love the base and the legs on this cabinet and its unusual colour. I just love the simplicity of it. It has a Chinese feel but is not over the top, so it could easily look at home in either a modern or a colonial house.
About FairPrice Antique
Owner Helle Esperson started this popular, successful business from her home six years ago and has grown it to fill its current spacious premises. She handpicks each item in her inventory of original and reproduction Chinese furniture; vases, lamps and other knickknacks for the home; and stone Buddha statues.
She works through just one supplier in China and receives regular shipments from that country, and you can buy either at one of her Open House days or online. A major reason for her success and popularity is that prices are kept as low as possible; browse the online inventory for some stunning examples. Can’t find the specific antique item you want? Helle will do her best to source it for you.
