I started doing taekwondo to learn self-defence and burn some calories at the same time. A friend introduced me to JH Kim at Turf City and I was hooked. The dojangs (training halls) there are spacious and well equipped, which makes our training safe and fun. The instructors are open to our comments and needs, and know how to motivate us. I have seen my stamina, fitness, flexibility and coordination all improve.

When my son went for his first internal grading, he was a bit confused, but an instructor took him aside and patiently gave him lots of encouragement. The next day, he did well in his Singapore Taekwondo Federation grading.

What’s more, I have met some great people and made some good friends. Plus, getting a new belt or breaking roof tiles makes you feel high for days!
