I had wanted to try microdermabrasion, but CeleVenus advised against it because I’d recently had laser treatment. Apparently, the skin remains sensitive for two months after laser, and so they recommended something gentler.

Jennifer, my softly spoken therapist, cleansed and steamed my face with a combination of chemical-free, in-house products that contain fruit acids and hyaluronic acid (a substance that occurs naturally in the body). A scrub is usually applied at this point, but because of my skin’s sensitivity, she moved straight on to a blissful massage, while I drifted off to some soothing music.

A painful extraction process interrupted my reverie, but was a necessary evil to rid my epidermis of blackheads and unclog my pores. It was gratefully followed by the Caviar Collagen mask, which contains real extract of caviar – dahling! It is rich in protein, vitamins and minerals and has a cell structure akin to that of human skin. The Collagen Eye Treatment was applied simultaneously.

Approximately 20 minutes (and a good nap) later she removed the mask and applied a final serum containing placenta extract and hyaluronic acid, then plucked my eyebrows for good measure.

The result: firm, glowing skin and noticeably reduced puffiness around my eyes … oh, and perfectly neat eyebrows.
